The development of our solution that combines agriculture and solar energy
Development of our combined solution of agriculture and photovoltaic.
Agrivoltaism, research field which has been developed since 2009 by the Sun’R group in cooperation with Inra, targets high added-value crops impacted by climate change.
The SunAgri programme occurred in several stages:
- 2009 – 2012: Sun’Agri 1. The main results showed that in full panel density, yields are strongly reduced (around 40%). In semi-density panels (30% shade), some crops have maintained the same yield or increased it compared to control crops (without panels).
- 2013 – 2017: Sun’Agri 2. Development of the software and hardware and implementation of the first agrivoltaic model over lettuce and vine. Panels are mobile. Two options:

- 2017 – 2022: Sun’Agri 3. This is the demonstration phase. Agrivoltaism has been fully deployed in real conditions.
