From 23 °C onwards, grasslands become vulnerable: forage yield and quality decrease, soil microbiota is affected, and plant diversity declines.
At the same time, animals experience heat stress: they eat less, produce less and grow more slowly. As a result, in 2025, milk production could fall by 30% due to heatwaves.

Forecasts indicate an average increase of +3 °C and up to 25 additional days of dry soil per year by 2050 (Météo France).
These conditions are likely to increase pressure on pastures and require adapting practices to protect herd health
